Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, ’63, 108XXX

Original Lacquer Mk VI tenor, totally mint

Condition: Wonderful condition, original lacquer.

Age: 1963

Selmer Mk VI saxophones are probably the most revered of all the vintage horns. Played worldwide by discerning professionals as well as being sought after by collectors, they are wonderful instruments. Production started in 1954 and ran until 1975 and most modern saxophones since then have been, in one way or another, an attempt at a Mk VI copy. They really should be on the trial list for any serious player.

This Mark VI tenor has the serial number 108XXX which makes its year of production 1963. It is finished in its original lacquer and is in mint condition. The pads are all original and whilst they are in good condition you would need to factor in a re-pad if you were to want to get the best out of the horn. Even on older pads though, it sounds and feels every bit as good as you would expect from a horn of this era and is a joy to play.

This is genuinely the nicest example of an original lacquer Mark Vi tenor I have ever seen. Would suit either a player or collector and is sure to only appreciate in value. It also comes, as pictured, in its original case.

As with all of our instruments, trials are both recommended and encouraged. Please book an appointment or get in touch if you would like any more information
