Old ‘steam punk’ beastly bass

Condition: Used, great player

Age: 1930’s

This one is somewhat of an oddity. It is what I would describe as a ‘short scale’ bass saxophone. Much shorter than the equivalent Conn bass’s it features a larger bell. It is a fantastic looking thing and a fantastic blower.

It has had a number of rather industrial looking repairs done to it in its life. I have pictured the extra bell brace and a number of the tone holes have been re-soldered fairly untidily. The neck also features some rather untidy patching. I am currently trying to source a case for it but struggling due to the odd shape of the horn. If I am able to find one it will be included in the sale.
