Stunning re-lacquered BA
Condition: Nice cosmetic condition, good pads.
Age: 1935
A predecessor to Selmers iconic Mark VI and Super Action (SBA) saxophones, the Balanced action is still a much sought after horn with a wonderful tone and fantastic ergonomics. Tonally they are more open and broad sounding than the later Selmers and offer players a wonderful tonal palette to work with.
This BA has been re-lacquered at some point and as such the engraving is not very visible. It has since been chemically stripped and had a custom brushed finish applied by sax guru Steve Crow as well as a full re-pad. The neck is in good condition showing no signs of any pull down but has had a pickup hole patched as is visible in the pictures. It feels amazing under the fingers and sounds as good as you would hope a horn of this calibre would.
As with all of our instruments, trials are both recommended and encouraged. Please book an appointment or get in touch if you would like any more information.
