SOLD, Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, ’70, 172XXX

£4,750.00

Mint, original lacquer 70’s Mark VI alto.

Condition: Amazing condition, practically mint
Age: 1970
Selmer Mk VI saxophones are probably the most revered of all the vintage horns. Played worldwide by discerning professionals as well as being sought after by collectors, they are wonderful instruments. Production started in 1954 and ran until 1975 and most modern saxophones since then have been, in one way or another, an attempt at a Mk VI copy. They really should be on the trial list for any serious player.

This Mark VI alto has the serial number 172XXX which makes its year of production 1970. It is finished in its original lacquer and is practically mint. It is in truly wonderful condition and also comes in its original case which is also in great condition. It is a fantastic player and sounds every bit as good as it looks. It has a big warm, bright, sound these late VI’s are famous for. It has just undergone a full re-pad and setup in the workshop and is blowing the house down.

As with all of our instruments, trials are both recommended and encouraged. Please book an appointment or get in touch if you would like any more information
