Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, ’56, 65XXX
£10,500.00
Stunning original silver plate Mark VI tenor.
Condition: Wonderful condition
Age: 1956
Selmer Mk VI saxophones are probably the most revered of all the vintage horns. Played worldwide by discerning professionals as well as being sought after by collectors, they are wonderful instruments. Production started in 1954 and ran until 1975 and most modern saxophones since then have been, in one way or another, an attempt at a Mk VI copy. They really should be on the trial list for any serious player.
This Mark VI tenor has the serial number 65XXX which makes its year of production 1956. It is a stunning example of an original 50’s Mark VI. There is no evidence of any major previous repairs, the neck is in great condition and the original silver plate is in really nice condition. It features a recent overhaul and re-pad from sax guru Steve Crow and is blowing amazing. This horn would appeal to players and collectors alike.
As with all of our instruments, trials are both recommended and encouraged. Please book an appointment or get in touch if you would like any more information
