Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, ’65, 121XXX

£7,000.00

Stunning original lacquer Mark VI tenor.

Condition: Great condition
Age: 1965
Selmer Mk VI saxophones are probably the most revered of all the vintage horns. Played worldwide by discerning professionals as well as being sought after by collectors, they are wonderful instruments. Production started in 1954 and ran until 1975 and most modern saxophones since then have been, in one way or another, an attempt at a Mk VI copy. They really should be on the trial list for any serious player.
This Mark VI tenor has the serial number 121XXX which makes its year of production 1965. It is finished in its original lacquer and is in beautiful condition. There is no sign of any major previous damage or any nasty repairs and it is a beautiful horn to look at. As a player it is everything you might expect from a horn of this calibre and era in both sound and ergonomics. It is truly a joy to play.
It is currently playing well on a set of older pads but you should factor in a re-pad in the next couple of years if you’re going to be giving it lots of play time. It is priced accordingly.

As with all of our instruments, trials are both recommended and encouraged. Please book an appointment or get in touch if you would like any more information
