Selmer Mk VI saxophones are probably the most revered of all the vintage horns. Played worldwide by discerning professionals as well as being sought after by collectors, they are wonderful instruments. Production started in 1954 and ran until 1975 and most modern saxophones since then have been, in one way or another, an attempt at a Mk VI copy. They really should be on the trial list for any serious player.

This Mark VI tenor has the serial number 122XXX which makes its year of production 1965. It is finished in its original lacquer and is in wonderful condition for its age. It shows no signs of any previous damage bar a very slight flattening to the bottom bow and is a real beauty. It has had a fresh re-pad and overhaul in white music medic roo pads with noyek resonators. This horn is sure to provide its new owner with many years of trouble free use and will want for no major work for years to come. It is slick and fast under the fingers and makes the wonderful, warm, focussed sound that these horns are famous for. It sounds and feels every bit as good as you would expect from a horn of this era and is a joy to play.

As with all of our instruments, trials are both recommended and encouraged. Please book an appointment or get in touch if you would like any more information
