Selmer Mark VI Saxophones

Selmer Mark VI Saxophones

Selmer Mk VI’s are probably the most revered and well known of all the vintage saxophones. Loved by players and technicians alike, for many they represent the pinnacle of saxophone manufacturing. Production started in 1954 and since then they have been in the hands of some of the biggest names in saxophone history; including John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, and Stan Getz.

Since then they have gained legendary status and almost every pro player has, at some point, enjoyed playing a Mark VI. Ergonomically these instruments set the benchmark for saxes everywhere. Most modern saxophones key-work is heavily influenced by these great instruments and, in a lot of cases, manufacturers are producing, what are essentially, Mk VI copies. With this in mind, If you’re looking for a horn that has all the ergonomic benefits of a modern horn, but blows and sounds like the vintage horns of some of the greats, then look no further.

We strive to make sure that we stock one of the biggest ranges of these instruments anywhere. From soprano to baritone, first year of production to last, we try to ensure we always have something in to suit a customers needs. All of our instruments go through a strict servicing, setup and testing process before they are available to purchase to ensure that when you come to try a selection of instruments they all play as well as they possibly can.

We have room for trials onsite so if you’d like to try any of the instruments below simply get in touch, book an appointment, and we will have a selection of horns ready for you when you arrive. The instruments listed below represent a snap shot of what we have on offer but if there is anything in particular you are looking for then please get in touch.
