Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, ’74, 222XXX

£5,850.00

Stunning original lacquer late Mark VI tenor.

Condition: Wonderful condition
Age: 1974
Selmer Mk VI saxophones are probably the most revered of all the vintage horns. Played worldwide by discerning professionals as well as being sought after by collectors, they are wonderful instruments. Production started in 1954 and ran until 1975 and most modern saxophones since then have been, in one way or another, an attempt at a Mk VI copy. They really should be on the trial list for any serious player.

This Mark VI tenor has the serial number 222XXX which makes its year of production 1974. It is a great example of a late Mark VI tenor with only minor lacquer wear and no major damage. It is padded in nice condition black roo pads that will be good for many years to come. It plays with a wonderful rich, muscular sound and feels great under the fingers. This horn is proof that late Mark VI’s are not the poor relations of Mark VI’s!

As with all of our instruments, trials are both recommended and encouraged. Please book an appointment or get in touch if you would like any more information
