Selmer Mk VI saxophones are probably the most revered of all the vintage horns. Played worldwide by discerning professionals as well as being sought after by collectors, they are wonderful instruments. Production started in 1954 and ran until 1975 and most modern saxophones since then have been, in one way or another, an attempt at a Mk VI copy. They really should be on the trial list for any serious player.

This Mark VI tenor has the serial number 107XXX which makes its year of production 1963. It is finished in its original lacquer and is generally good condition for a horn of its age. The neck has had a minor repair done at some point but there is no evidence of any other major damage. The pads are all in excellent condition. It has not had very much play time since a full re-pad and overhaul a couple of years ago. It sounds and feels every bit as good as you would expect from a horn of this era and is a joy to play.

As with all of our instruments, trials are both recommended and encouraged. Please book an appointment or get in touch if you would like any more information
