Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, ’56, 62XXX
£6,500.00
Lovely silver plated Mark VI tenor.
Condition: Great condition
Age: 1956
Selmer Mk VI saxophones are probably the most revered of all the vintage horns. Played worldwide by discerning professionals as well as being sought after by collectors, they are wonderful instruments. Production started in 1954 and ran until 1975 and most modern saxophones since then have been, in one way or another, an attempt at a Mk VI copy. They really should be on the trial list for any serious player.
This Mark VI tenor has the serial number 62XXX which makes its year of production 1956. It is finished in silver plate and has been re-plated at some point in its life. The engraving is a little faded but still visible and it looks lovely. It benefits from a fresh roo pad overhaul and is in perfect playing condition. Truly a joy to play. If you’re looking for a killing playing early MK VI tenor without spending silly money then look no further!
As with all of our instruments, trials are both recommended and encouraged. Please book an appointment or get in touch if you would like any more information
