Unique custom finish 1975 Mk VI tenor
Selmer Mk VI saxophones are probably the most revered of all the vintage horns. Played worldwide by discerning professionals as well as being sought after by collectors, they are wonderful instruments. Production started in 1954 and ran until 1975 and most modern saxophones since then have been, in one way or another, an attempt at a Mk VI copy. They really should be on the trial list for any serious player.
This one has the serial number 238XXX which makes its year of production 1975. One of the last in the run of Mk VI’s. It is finished in a stunning custom copper oxide finish. The custom finish along with a full re-pad and professional setup was carried out by a top saxophone tech in Malaga and the horn is blowing amazing. Ready for many years of playing with its new owner. It is a wonderfully free blowing and modern sounding instrument and looks incredible.
As with all of our instruments, trials are both recommended and encouraged. Please book an appointment or get in touch if you would like any more information
