SML Super 46, 1946, 63XX, Alto Saxophone
£1,100.00
Rare super model SML
Condition: Fair used condition
Age:
The SML horns are not a brand that gets mentioned very often when talking about vintage horns but nevertheless they have developed a bit of a cult following. The super model is often praised as having the best of French and American tonal qualities. Ie a great balance between the focus of the vintage french horns and openness and power of the vintage American.
This Super 46 dates from 1946 and is in fair used condition for its age. It has quite a bit of plating loss and the odd solder repair but it is a great looking horn and is a lovely player. It has had a recent re-pad in white roo pads but would benefit from a setup to get the best out of it. It is priced accordingly.
As with all of our instruments, trials are both recommended and encouraged. Please book an appointment or get in touch if you would like any more information.
