Condition: Used condition, plenty of lacquer wear, great playing condition.

Age: 1980’s

The Yamaha 62 range of saxophones really needs no introduction. They offer outstanding value for money, an amazing sound, fantastic reliability and great ergonomics. In this price bracket they simply cannot be matched. The 61 was the predecessor to the 62 and they have somewhat of a cult following. They feel a little different under the fingers but are a fantastic sounding horn for the money and really punch well above their weight.

This one is a 00 serial number 1980’s purple logo sax.

Good points – Whilst it is an older model it has been mechanically well maintained. It’s been re-padded in the last couple of years so won’t want for any major service costs any time soon. The neck shows no signs of any major trauma and no pull down.

Bad points – Aesthetically it has bits of lacquer wear commensurate with its age and the odd tiny ding here and there but it still looks the part and has its purple logo intact.
